The yearling sales season for 2025 commences this week for the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, where we will be in action for our Colt Partnership, this year purchasing alongside Tony Fung Investments.
Details on our purchases are below.
This is a big, strong colt by first-season sire Home Affairs. He’s got great quality, girth and a lovely temperament. Home Affairs is a very exciting first-season sire prospect, being a Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes winner as well as defeating Nature Strip in the Group 1 Lightning Stakes.
This colt is, interestingly, also from the family of Home Affairs, as well as going back to the family of top-class stallions Encosta de Lago and Flying Spur. His dam is by Blame, who is emerging as an outstanding broodmare sire, with 10.5% stakes winners to runners out of his daughters, notably this season’s Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Switzerland.
This is a very precocious-looking colt from the first crop of Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside, who looks to be an outstanding sire prospect. He’s got a lovely shape to him, and walks out powerfully in the manner of a colt who is every inch an early 2YO.
Stay Inside was a top-class 2YO, and is by Extreme Choice, who continues to impress with his exceptional statistics. This colt’s dam was a speedy filly in Queensland, where she won 3 of her 8 starts at sprint distances, including at Saturday level, and he comes from a fast and productive family.
This is a strong, forward-looking colt from the second crop of Group 1 Golden Slipper winner Farnan. He’s got lovely shape, and paraded in great style all week. Farnan has started well with his 2YOs, with his son North England taking out the Group 3 $1m Golden Gift in November.
This colt is out of Festivity, who was a lightly-raced and speedy filly, winning three times at city level in Sydney from just six starts. She has done well at stud, producing the Group 3 winner and Group 1 runner-up Semana.
This is a strong and very forward-looking colt by Champion Sire Snitzel. As mentioned, he continues as the top source of high-quality colts in Australia, with Golden Slipper winner Shinzo and Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Switzerland in the past two seasons.
He is out of a mare by Exceed and Excel, which has worked well with Snitzel, already producing the very smart sprinting colt Lofty Strike, who was a Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed. This is a good black type family, that of Group 3 winner Brave Mead and Caulfield Guineas winner Mighty Boss.
