King's Legacy lives up to name at Eagle Farm

As a son of legendary stallion Redoute’s Choice, and from the family of top-class stallions Not a Single Doubt and Snippets, King’s Legacy has quite the dynasty to live up to. After an unlucky third on debut, he took great strides to fulfilling that with victory in this weekend’s Group 3 BJ McLachlan Stakes at Eagle Farm, capping an unreal day for JHB as Nitrous and Leviathan had both won Saturday races at Randwick earlier in the day.

Rated perfectly by Kerrin McEvoy after flying the barriers, King’s Legacy showed great heart in the straight to run down speedy filly Every Rose and put the all-important 2YO Group race onto his CV.

He now sets himself up well for a run in the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast in January.

Thanks to trainers Peter and Paul Snowden and congratulations to winning owners, Belinda Bateman, Love Racing, Phil & Glenda Mehrten, Fergus & Delia Doyle, Steve & Louise Gillard, Gary Diamond, Danny & Pauline Saab, John & Fran Ingham and Pinecliff Racing.
