Over three days of solid selling at Inglis Riverside for the 2023 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, we were delighted to come away with five outstanding yearlings.
Their details are below, with the first four purchase on behalf of the James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership, and the final filly secured for our Filly Partnership with Michael Freedman.
Lot 10, the Capitalist colt out of Rare Insight, was secured for $130,000 from the Kitchwin Hills draft. He is out of Group 2 winner Rare Insight, which also makes him a half-brother to Group 1 winner Steps in Time. A strong, forward colt with great girth, we thought he represented tremendous value as a son of our Group 1 Golden Slipper winner Capitalist, who continues to make a great impression, with over 60 winners in the past three months as the tracks throughout Australia have dried up.
Lot 406, the Written By x Exotic colt was secured for $230,000 from the Newhaven Park draft. He is a very strong, precocious-looking colt by Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Written By, who has made a strong start with his first 2YOs, headed by Group 3 BJ McLachlan Stakes winner The Novelist.
Our third colt purchase was Lot 431, the Royal Meeting x Flying Strike colt, secured from Willow Park Stud for $60,000. He is from the first crop of unbeaten 2YO Group 1 winner Royal Meeting. He is a strong, quality colt with great action and a lovely attitude.
Our final purchase for the James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership was Lot 595, the Pierata colt out of Matildare from Highgrove Stud for $220,000. He is a lovely, athletic colt and comes from an outstanding family, that of International Champion Sprinter Starspangledbanner as well as Group 1 winner Amicus.
Lot 193, the Capitalist x War Flower filly, was secured for our Filly Partnership with Michael Freedman from the Davali Thoroughbreds draft for $175,000. This speedily-bred filly comes from a very productive black type family, that of multiple Group 1 winner Probabeel and Champion 3YO filly Savvy Coup.
